AUDITING Sooner or later you are going to have a ton of data entered in your QuickBooks® file. Is it all entered in accordance with common accounting principles? Are there any missing or duplicate transactions? Is everything properly categorized for tax purposes? Have you paid the exact amounts of payroll and other taxes? How would you know? I will do an internal audit of your books to make sure the numbers reflect reality. Correct accounting is essential before you can know how your business is performing. An end of year audit will prepare your books to be given to your accountant for tax preparation. If you've already started using QuickBooks® but feel that it's gotten to be a bit of a mess, an audit at any time can get you back on track. Many times your QuickBooks® problems are not due to the software but to accounting misunderstandings.

PROFILE:
I have a wealth of experience using QuickBooks® from version 5 through the new 2006 releases, in addition to experience with the version for Apple computers. I joined Intuit's beta testing program in 2005. I also provide Quicken® setup, support, and training. I spent two years with an accounting firm, handling over twenty clients' bookkeeping needs (including payroll,) and I have more than eight years experience as a business and office manager. CONSULTING:
I offer a free half-hour initial consultation in which I review your existing data or learn about your startup's needs, and give you an idea of the best way I can help you. We'll set a convenient time to meet in your home or office and work on your actual data on your computer. Training sessions are generally two hours long, while setup and auditing sessions may be longer. Afternoon, evening, and weekend appointments are available.
For clients in the City of Alexandria, Fairfax City, or Falls Church, or in Fairfax and Arlington counties of Northern Virginia, or in Washington D.C., or inside the beltway in Maryland, there is no charge for travel time. Please contact me to make specific arrangements for travel outside this area. A minimum charge for service will apply and travel expenses, if necessary, must be prepaid. For clients outside the DC Metro area, we may be able to work solely by phone and email.
BOOKKEEPING SERVICES:
If you're converting your accounting system to QuickBooks® and you need some help with the data entry, turn the project over to me to ensure the transfer goes smoothly. I'll make sure the historical data entered in QuickBooks® matches your existing accounting reports so you can rely on the information without referring back to your previous system. I charge a reduced rate for these projects. Call me and you can be running QuickBooks sooner than you think! I'm also available to help with data entry when you are facing a tax filing, audit, or grant application deadline.
